REVIEW: The Blood of The Hydra by Michelle Madow

Hello everyone! it’s been awhile since I last posted but I finally brought myself to terms that I couldn’t hold off a post any longer. I missed blogging. A LOT. So now, I’m finally here writing this long awaited post.

I read this book about a month ago when I had the opportunity to receive an eBook copy of it from Michelle Madow herself. In return, all i had to do was write a nice review on Amazon. But, for some reason, my Amazon account doesn’t let me do reviews. I have bought stuff previously on it before but it still won’t let me. So, instead I’m going to do the review on here since it was such an amazing book!

Title: Elementals: The Blood of The Hydra

Author: Micelle Madow

Series: Elementals

Publisher: Dreamscape Publishing

Release Date: April, 18, 2016

Goodreads Summary:

A demigod who can kill with a touch. It’s an ability that must be kept secret, even from those trusted most.

Finding out that she was a witch was strange enough, but now Nicole must face the realization that she has the rare power to kill with just a touch. No one can know her secret — not even Blake, who she’s had undeniable chemistry with since first moving to town.

Now Nicole, Blake, and the three others with elemental powers must stop a series of monsters that they previously believed to be dead from rising once again and destroying the mortal world. The creatures they face on this journey will be more dangerous than anything they’ve encountered yet. Will they all survive the quest? And how long will it be until Nicole is forced to use her ability to kill in front of everyone, revealing the true darkness of her powers?

My Review:

This book has been one of my favorites this year! it was very fast paced and all of the action made it turn into an electrifyingly, satisfying novel. I was in a reading slump for a long time and this one was the second book I read after it. it was such an exhilarating book and it fully tore own the walls of my reading slump.

i really liked this book because it had to do a lot with Greek Mythology and it had many ties with The Odyssey by Homer. it’s amazing how present day YA can bring aspects of works of Shakespeare, Homer and Dante Alighieri. Ancient poems turned into present day works of literature. It brings teens and even adults a bit more interested in reading poetry from back then!

Traveling through Greece with the Elementals was a journey I would love to do again. Nicole, Kate, Blake, Chris and Danielle make up an amazing group of witches who fight monsters. Yes, I know. The sound of people fighting monsters sounds ridiculous but, believe me, it is amazing. Every piece of Michelle’s work has been amazing and I can’t wait for more!

I hope that you will all have the opportunity to read Michelle’s novels!

Happy Reading!
